
TRAINING OPPORTUNITIES FOR JANUARY 2026 INTAKES

Ekwendeni College of Health Sciences is under the proprietorship of the CCAP Synod of Livingstonia. It exists to provide training of Health professionals within Christian Principles and Values. The College invites applicants to pursue the following programmes: Certificate in Community Midwifery, University Certificate in Midwifery, Diploma in Nursing and Midwifery, Certificate in Pharmacy, Diploma in Pharmacy and Diploma in Clinical Medicine.
- FACULTY OF NURSING AND MIDWIFERY
- CERTIFICATE IN COMMUNITY MIDWIFERY (18 MONTHS)
Entry Requirements
All prospective candidates for this program must:
- Be aged between 20 and 40 years by the date of application.
- Possess a full Malawi School Certificate of Education (MSCE) or its equivalent with two credit passes in English and Biology and a pass in Physical Science or Physics or Chemistry, or Mathematics.
- UNIVERSITY CERTIFICATE IN MIDWIFERY (1 YEAR)
Entry Requirements
All prospective candidates for this program must:
- Possess a full Malawi School Certificate of Education (MSCE) or its equivalent with six credits, including the following subjects: English, Mathematics, Biology and Physical Science or Physics or Chemistry, plus any other two subjects.
- A holder of Diploma in Nursing or Degree in General Nursing
- DIPLOMA IN NURSING AND MIDWIFERY TECHNICIAN (3 YEARS)
Entry Requirements
All prospective candidates for this program must:
- Be aged between 16 and 45 years by the date of application.
- Possess a full Malawi School Certificate of Education (MSCE) or its equivalent with four credits in English, Biology and Physical Science or Physics or Chemistry plus one of the following science subjects Mathematics, Agriculture, Home Economics, General Science or Geography
NOTE: If Mathematics is not a credit, it should at least be a strong pass of seven (7) points.
- FACULTY OF CLINICAL SCIENCES
- CERTIFICATE IN PHARMACY (2 YEARS)
Entry Requirements
All prospective candidates for this program must:
- Be aged between 16 and 45 years by the date of application.
- Possess a full Malawi School Certificate of Education (MSCE) or its equivalent with six (6) credit passes including English, Mathematics, Biology and Chemistry plus any other two subjects.
- DIPLOMA IN PHARMACY (3 YEARS)
Entry Requirements
All prospective candidates for this program must:
- Be aged between 16 and 45 years by the date of application
- Possess a full Malawi School Certificate of Education (MSCE) or its equivalent with six (6) credit passes including English, Mathematics, Biology and Physical Science/General Science plus any other two subjects.
NOTE: Candidates without Physical Science on their MSCE should have at least a credit pass in Chemistry.
- DIPLOMA IN CLINICAL MEDICINE (3 YEARS)
Entry Requirements
All prospective candidates for this program must:
- Be aged between 17 and 45 years by the date of application.
- Possess a full Malawi School Certificate of Education (MSCE) or its equivalent with six (6) credits in English, Mathematics, Biology and Physical Science/General Science/Physics and Chemistry plus any other two subjects.
Applicants meeting the above requirements should download application form from www.ecohs.ac.mw and fill the form. Applicants must also deposit a MK15,000.00 (Fifteen Thousand Kwacha Only) non-refundable application processing fee to the following bank details:

The programmes will commence on 12th January 2026.
Applicants should make sure that they have a reliable and stable source of school fees because the programmes have no scholarships available at the College.
Candidates who already applied for University Certificate in Midwifery and Certificate in Community Midwifery Assistant do not need to reapply because we are still keeping their application forms.
